Audition And Sign Up Information
For drama club, students are required to audition.
We will hold auditions following Winter Break on Tuesday, January 13th from 4:00 - 5:30 pm at Woodmen-Roberts Elementary.
In order to attend auditions, students must sign up for a spot through the Google Form linked below. If students are not signed up online, they will not be allowed to audition or considered for a spot. We must have all contact information and accountability information in order for students to audition.

Drama Club is an audition based club and unfortunately may have to turn several students away. There are only about 30-40 spots (backstage, roles, and understudies) in total. By signing up online, you have reserved a spot to audition, but you’re not guaranteed a spot in the club. We will send out the cast list within a few days of auditions. We will email out following auditions to notify you if your student is offered a role or spot backstage. There will be no official sign ups or collection of drama club fees before that casting email is sent.
AUDITIONS HAVE CONCLUDED
Anyone who had auditioned or signed up for drama club will receive an email by Tuesday, 1/20 at 6 PM notifying them of the cast list and next steps.
Drama Club does not meet the week immediately following auditions, and will hold the first practice on Tuesday 1/27 at 4 PM.
Changes This Year
If you have done drama club with us in the past, you may notice some changes. In the past, we both worked as teachers at the school and running it fully school sponsored did change some things. This year, with Julie Leach not working for the school, there are some changes with rentals, insurance, times, pricing, etc. We will do our best to keep it accessible and thriving, and are grateful to partner with Woodmen-Roberts to make this happen.

These changes are part of the reason we don't have 100% set details for you all yet. There are several more steps involving paperwork, approvals, and payments than in the past and it has unfortunately left us where we have a few details that are still tentative. We will get everything covered and update these details as soon as possible.

Details and FAQS
Pricing
At this time, the cost for enrollment will be $200.
This number is higher than in the past due to us both not teaching at the school and having to take on some other costs (insurance, rentals, etc.) to make this happen. However, thanks to partnering with WRES, we were able to lower it from our initial estimates.

The cost for enrollment covers scripts, performance royalties, a cast t-shirt, and our sets/props. We will create as many costume pieces and props as we can, but students will need to provide a costume piece or outfit from home for the performances.
Costumes
Students will be responsible to provide their own costumes. We will cover all props and may get some costume pieces. We will send out a list around mid-March with costume requirements so you have time to put together a costume.
Practice Dates
Generally, we will practice every Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:00 to 5:30 pm, from 1/27 - 5/16.

The last few weeks before performances we will add performance dates on other weekdays.

We may have certain days where we ask for only part of the cast, or very occasional days where practices have to be canceled, but will communicate through Dojo.
Steps After Auditions
Within a week following auditions (planning for Friday the 16th), we will email out the cast list and notify everyone on if they were accepted or not. In the past we have posted a physical cast list, but at this time do not plan on that this year. That email will include all details on what to do next and how the club will operate. There will be a week off following auditions to give time for students to sign up and pay.
Performance Dates
Performance dates are tentative and not 100% set. We have two possibilities, and they will only change if ASD20 changes the last day of school.

Planned Performance Dates
May 15th @ 6:00 pm
May 16th @ 2:00 pm & 6:00 pm

Backup Dates if the Last Day of School is Moved Up
May 1st @ 6:00 pm
May 2nd @ 2:00 pm & 6:00 pm
Who Can Join
The club is open to 3rd - 7th graders. At this time, 6th and 7th grader spots will only be open to Woodmen-Roberts alumni.
Students will both act and have roles helping backstage.
We would love adult help and support from time to time with items such as creating props and costumes. We will do as much as we can with the students so they learn all aspects of theatre!
